SOHAM means 'That, I am'.
“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.”
— Tielhard de Chardin.
We can discover the spirit within us and function through it. As we perceive through the mind and its construct, the ego, we identify with our body, possessions, mind and beliefs, creating the Illusion (Maya) of separation. We can be free from Maya. Perception always involves some misuse of mind, because it brings the mind into areas of uncertainty. When it chooses to be separate, it chooses to perceive. The mind returns to its proper function only when it wills to know. "Positive and lasting change arises from an 'inner revolution', according to psychologist John White. He says, "all real and lasting changes involve a fundamental shift in the person's perception of reality. They view life differently and make a willed response to their new view. I see this changed perception as the essence of their inner revolution."
To the degree to which we align ourselves with correct principles, divine endowments will be released within our nature in enabling us to fulfil the measure of our creation. Miracles are thoughts. Thoughts can represent the lower or bodily level of experience, or the higher or spiritual level of experience. One makes the physical, and the other creates the spiritual.
Thoughts take their operative forms in our minds as beliefs. Our beliefs create our life conditions, relationships, our experiences and us.
When we perceive that the only difference between us is our beliefs and that beliefs can be created or discreated with ease, the right and wrong game will wind down, a co-create game will unfold, and world peace will ensue. Miracles are examples of right thinking, aligning your perceptions with truth as God created it.
The beginning of freedom is the realization that you are not the "thinker". The moment you start watching the thinker, a higher level of consciousness becomes activated. You then begin to realize that there is a vast realm of intelligence beyond thought, that thought is only a tiny aspect of that intelligence. You also realize that all the things that truly matter — beauty, love, creativity, joy, inner peace — arise from beyond the mind.
